Mid-scale LNG
Summary
|
Mid-scale LNG plants ranging up to 3.0 MTPA are forecasted to be the preferred solution to monetize stranded gas reserves at a minimized investment cost. For this scale of LNG plants, Toyo Engineering Corporation (TOYO), supported by Chart Energy & Chemicals, Inc.’s (CHART) liquefaction technology, including its IPSMRTM (patent pending) Single Mixed Refrigerant Process, provides an optimized and attractive solution to plant configurations and project implementation. TOYO’s mid-scale LNG enables small- and medium-scale gas fields with the number of 1,300 plus to appear on the stage as a promising energy source. |

Features of TOYO’s Mid-Scale LNG
A Powerful Business Alliance
In 2009, TOYO concluded an alliance with CHART to jointly pursue mid-scale LNG opportunities. CHART will provide LNG liquefaction process technology, including integrated Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) recovery and nitrogen rejection technology, together with equipment such as Brazed Aluminum Heat Exchanger (BAHX). TOYO will develop the whole LNG plant design including utility and off-site facilities with the integration of CHART's liquefaction technology.
A Simple, One-Cycle Process
The figure below shows the simplified process scheme for CHART’s liquefaction technology. This process utilized mixed refrigerant in a single refrigeration cycle. The single mixed refrigerant cycle requires less equipment count and provides a compact design using CHART's Brazed Aluminum Heat Exchanger (BAHX). TOYO’s Mid-Scale LNG Plant with the simple process offers shorter project schedule, lower investment cost and easy operation and maintenance.
