The 21st century is often referred to as the Century of Water. Water is precious as it supports people's lives and industry. However, there is a limit to usable water resources. Effective use of water resources is becoming an increasingly important issue, in view of the global environment and economic efficiency. To make effective use of precious water resources, TOYO has undertaken numerous projects related to water. These include efficiency enhancements by sharing common/centralized water treatment facilities among several plants and industrial waste water treatment and re-use/recycle facilities.

Water treatment engineering
Diverse technologies are required for making effective use of water. Various state-of-the-art technologies can be integrated, such as conventional filters and membrane treatment applied to raw water treatment, seawater desalination, cooling water and boiler feed water supply, the recovery and re-use of condensate from plants, handling and advanced treatment of oil, organic and chemical contents in waste water to re-use, and the application of Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) process, from which no drainage is discharged.
Project by project, the concept of the treatment process varies according to the type, quantity and quality of the waste water from the production facilities, the balance between the water demands and supplies and the restrictions of the surrounding environment.
Relying on the knowledge and expertise on the production plant side, TOYO offers optimum and effective water usage systems that meet the customers' requirements and needs.

The needs for water treatment arise not only from industrial facilities. The water treatment plant built along Hibiya moat outside the Imperial Palace (outer garden water purification plant for the Imperial Palace) was built using TOYO's proprietary technologies. For the water treatment (drinking water) plant built in Narita City (formerly Shimofusa Town) in Chiba Prefecture, TOYO supported the municipality to execute the project as the project consultant. In the project, TOYO realized both the cost reduction and quality assurance at the same time and the smooth implementation of the design and construction works. |
